Because It's Nice to Be Able to Fix a Simple Meal 24/7

The kitchen received the bulk of the bungalow's renovation work. New cabinets and new flooring were installed, as well as a stainless steel sink. Despite being a small room, all the appliances are full size. There is a refrigerator, a gas stove, a microwave and a dishwasher. The are ample glassware, dishes, and pots and pans to make simple meals. Items on hand include a toaster oven, a blender and a coffee maker. There's even a crockpot and a portable electric mixer for easy meal prep. And if you're out of ideas about what to make, there are a few cookbooks in the mix of books in the bookcase in the living room.

There is a fire extinguisher in one of the cupboards; the bungalow also has a carbon monoxide detector in the bedroom and smoke alarms on the living level and the basement. Access to the basement and its washer and dryer are through a door in the kitchen.

The kitchen's artwork includes a picture of some teacups and a poster from the Indy car race that used to be held at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. (Yes, there's a story behind that too!) There is also a large floral print in yellow and blue with a nod to Holland and its delftware. The etched glass hanging in the window by the dishwasher is more than 100 years old.
